ok, what is it...what does it do...and can I remove it??

the engine is a 91 b18a1 that I'm boosting and I could really use the two vacuum ports on the intake manifold that this thing feeds to. I mean, one of them goes to the pre-throttlebody side and the other goes right past it. There's no electrical connections to it so I can only assume it's some sort of passive vacuum operated valve that maybe helps at idle or something goofy like that??

can I unbolt it and toss it??

 

Why? Theres a nice big vacuum line on the front of the intake mani, and if you don't want to use that one, just tee into one of the ones that goes to the valve thingy. Sort of a don't fix it if it isn't broken thing...

also, it would be a really nice place to mount my nitrous solenoids as well...lol

 

That has something to do with the throttle plate I believe or at least that's what I remember...

WTF?? The cruise control is controled by the cruise control unit nothing to do with this ----...

If you follow the cable you can see that the cruise control unit is controling the throttle body with the cable

 

it's junk throw it away. I pulled it, I don't remember if it was the auto part, but it keeps the idle from plummeting when you put the car in neutral at high rpm. Completely unnecessary.

I removed it from my old 91 LS....had no problems without it.
