So what is safe so that I won't blow up my z6. Cuz I have heard that they take alot of boost but I have to beat my friends crx with 230hp. At the same time I don't want to put in a new engine. And how much hp were you getting out of your sol?

Also, .75-.9 deg/psi is a safe retard (when runnning higher boost)

that kind of scares me...according to my uberdata map i'm 18* at idle and 27.75* at 12psi at redline. haven't heard any detonation, afr is rich, and egt look good too...at least 100* less than when i was running the hack.

How long have you been running that map? 27.75 is only retarde 1 degree at most. Send me that map. I'd like to check it out. athlonmank7@hotmail.com

That's a shitload of boost for that kinda timing haha. But if it works, more power to ya (pun intended :P)

well think of it on the bright side now its time for a fresh and stronger rebuilt. i blew my stock 1.5 2 months ago after only running it a week, but it made me faster cause i ended up putting a 1.6 vtec and now im much more happier ;D 6psi the most now.
but you should know the 1.5 blew at around 15 psi overboosted on its own, my rods flew out my block and hit my fans/turbo/manifold/radiator support and one came out the back and hit my firewall, all i could do was laught when i saw it lollolol :( at least you can still use that block for a rebuild.

Welp it's been a while and I figure I better update.
I finally figured out the reason it blew at 10psi.

I was actually running stock timing! (YAY ) Why you ask? Im not going to admit why

It lasted for about 1 month on stock timing and 10psi (driven every day)

As far as the engine's going. I got uberdata's new map/clutch/PS out/and ss in hehe. Also Got my new engine in (just need to put on the head and turbo stuff and im pretty much done

Can't wait to boost it again. I've got pics of this, but i forgot where they're hosted

So I just wanted to reiterrate B/C I think I scurred some ppl. The engine blew because of HUMAN ERROR (AKA STOCK TIMING)

RIP Block #1

make sure non of that metal shaving got in to the turbo oil feel lines, or worse, the turbo itself.
so clean/flush all that out before u start again.

good luck
