haha its cool man. yea i get what your saying, but i think welding on a flange is probably the best idea because i don't wanna have a leak or anything. There is a guy around here that can supposedly weld pretty much whatever you want and he has done some really nice work for my friends so i'm gonna take it to him.

IDEA, pipe that threads in and weld wastegate to pipe?

What i did with my external wastegate was drill the o2 sensor hole bigger and tap it, then put a piece of pipe in there and then weld the exteranal wastegate flange on to the pipe, works fine, no leaks

Welding cast Iron isnt too bad. I have welded the flange for my turbo onto a CX manifold and so far its held up great. Im sure it coudl support a WG if it can support a turbo. Just do what has been mentioned, turn up the volts, heat up the cast iron super hot, then pool onto the steel. The WORST thing to do is cool it with water, hehe

Heres how my Audi-gate/HF mani looked when done. I used some header tube to remote mount it due to limited space.

The guy that welded it used the correct rod, and it turned out great. I rape this thing alot, and its been holding for a few months so far.

Yeah, it dumps open right now. Ive got it pointed at the DP, and the plan is to join it back up. Im pretty lazy though.
