whats the difference between water cooled and oil cooled turbos? are all T04 turbos water cooled. the reason i ask is because i just bought a T04. CAn you water cool an oil cooled turbo, and also, for cooling a water cooled turbo can you just tap the coolent line and by-pass the throttle body and use that too cool it?

Default Re:water cooled vs oil cooled

its more like

oil and water
or
oil.

oil helps lubricate the bearings and also keep it cool. with a oil/water turbo is basically keeps it cooler and prevents oil cooking if you dont have a turbo timer.
