please excuse me and my n00b questions. i've been looking around for used wastegates for my turbo set up, by word of mouth TiAL is the best... but will any wastegate do or could i look into something a little cheaper?? i know you get what you pay for but i'm shooting for a turbo kit for under 1000.00. thanxx

well, it all depends on your turbo setup and the psi that you want to run.

Most turbos have an internal wastegate, so you need to find a "wastegate actuator" set at or below a psi that you want. If you want more boost than use a boost controller.

Now keep in mind that an external wastegate requires a manifold to accompany the device. There is a guy in the classifieds that makes custom manifolds-for a hellatious price- that would accompany an external wastegate and the turbo that you decide to use.

As far as external wastegates are concerned, tial is the way to go.

I personally like the Deltagate. A little less expensive than Tial, and just as reliable.
