hi guys im a bit puzzled as to whether i need a wastegate for my crx turbo set up. i got an actuator on the turbo and i got a dump valve but i thought that was all i needed. is a wastegate only needed once you reach a certain PSI? Please help? thanx

 

im guessing you are referring to a external wastegate. If so you don't need one if you got a internal wastegate/ actuator with the exhaust flapper etc. You only need a exteranl wastegate when you run over 15 psi by what im told. The internal can hold up to 12-15 psi average. I just recently got a ext wastegate mainly cause it was a good deal but i didn't need it just couldn't pass it up.

I dont think i'll run 12 PSI, prob 10 max so wot i got should be fine. While im here, do u know if it is a common thing to put the intercooler in the engine bay?
