wastegate dumping all times

Re: wastegate dumping all times
The boost reference line. The line that comes from the intake manifold or the turbo, and connects to the wastegate which tells the wastegate when to open and allow the excess drive pressure to escape around the turbine. Understand?

Re: wastegate dumping all times
oh ya, ive just always called it the line that goes from the turbo to wastegate, lol
im sure i could try that, its under a few inches of snow under a tarp so i have to wait, i just wanted to see if hes going to need a new wastegate or not now

If you would read, you would see that its already been asked..... :1

just thought id let you all know i figured it out
i took it apart again, everything looked fine so i put it all back together again and sat and played with it for a while
finally i pushed up on the bottom of the valve and there was just enough play to let air get by the valve past the fire ring
i took the top off again and tried to mess with the set screws on that cap that goes onto the top of the valve but they had a bunch of locktite on them so i couldnt get them loose.
i drilled them out and then drilled a hole as close to the top of the valve stem as possible, installed the valve back into the WG, put a long cotter pin through two of the set screw holes and put it all back together
when i put the fire ring back on there was finally a little bit of it sticking past the flange, so i knew when i installed it, it would push up on the valve, sealing it
so it was nice out the last couple days and snow melted so i got the car out, installed the waste gate, and WALLA! BOOST!
needless to say i was pretty excited
