Re: walbro making noise car wants to stall
what kind of car is it in? a honda? when you put the pump in it sealed at the top by shoving it into a beveled end of the fuel line and it sealed with an o-ring right? if so it could be leaking around that o-ring and going back into the tank. i always cut the enlarged end on the fuel line off, and connect it with a short piece of fuel line hose and clamps to avoid this, assuming thats how the pump connects to the fuel line, this could be your problem, and yes it could be bad already as well, and the high pitch whining is normal, some pumps do it, some dont, but most bigger ones do....

Re: walbro making noise car wants to stall
what is your fuel pressure regulator set at?
If you don;t have one, then THAT is your problem! The 255 flows so much the stock FPR cannot bypass enough fuel at idle, car loads up, runs rich, fouls the plugs and stalls.........

Re: walbro making noise car wants to stall
my roomates integra went from a 400 hp turbo ls/vtec, then the motor blew up, to a mildly built all motor setup and we left the 340 lph pump in the tank it had from being boosted, and with a stock pressure reg. it ran fine at idle, still does....
