Re: volvo turbo questions
i just pulled a turbo from 740 volvo turbo(83-87)...the specs are .42/.48
which is good if u just want some boost to start with...in my opinion
dont always go for a turbo too big...the idea of building ur kit is to make
it work and fix any problems that may come up and then upgrade the turbo
when everything is in working order...most t3 bolt patterns are the same...even
ones at the junk...its just that clocking used junkyard turbos can be a hassle...ur
best bet is to use the saab 9000 turbo(83-89) because the t3 flange on that turbo
will bolt up to all t3 manifolds for ur specific car...when i pulled the turbo from that 740
volvo...it had an irregular flange design...it had the bolt pattern of a t3 but in the
middle was like a circle where the volvo manifold fits into sort of like the donut on
the header/cat connection...which sucks because now i have to customize that sucker
to fit my manifold
