lets says a stock n/a car, with maf sensor that calculate the air enter the engine, and you just put a turbo which put more air in as well raisin VE and compression, I just wonder if the stock ECU can re-adjust that air/fuel mixture to a safe level when you pump more air in while closed loop operation, without maxing out the maf sensor.

the engine is fs-de, similar to mx6 or ford probe or mazdaspeed protege.

ps: i have bought a fmu for it, i will megasquirt it later.
Doesn't quite work that way. Maf setups are load based. Do a little more research into your Evo and you'll start to understand how. Bolting a turbo onto an n/a maf car with throw your maf sensor readings waaaay off unless you have a way to rescale it or run a blow through gm maf type setup like a MAFT pro type. The ecu has no way of knowing how much pressure is actually going into the motor based on the airflow hz signal sent back from the maf, and without it being rescaled more than likely it'll run crazy lean and toss every check engine light it can. The maf's are usually calibrated in the ecu to flow a certain max G/S that pertains to a hz reading limit, and once the limit is reached (say a full-throttle situation at peak load) it won't add any more fuel. At least with an AFC you can semi-trick the ecu into reading a slightly different maf scale until you find a better management setup. Just be aware that "raising" the maf hz values via afc will also advance your timing as well with larger injectors with no means to retard timing under boost.
