turboing is killin me.......
ive been slowing working toward turboing my crx for like a year now. Its a rusty, loves nothing more then getting jumped over railroad tracks, and is a pain my ***. I did the mpfi swap and now i think i made a mistake i chipped my ecu at the same time and when iver i try to start my car it just cranks and i have a solid cel. could anything in the wiring cause this? and also what oil restricotr should i use for a 42/48 T3? O and my kit is done ready to bolt on minus the oil restrictor. i am just wondering if i should put in a walboro fuel pump i got or if the stock dx pump is good enough to get it done? o and i kept it 110% hmt , welded the hf mani straight to the ported t3! lol
you shouldnt have to worry about the fuel pump either. sounds like you will not be running a high hp car. if you upgrade internals, turbo, and up the boost then yes. but your stock fuel pump should be fine.
but if you do already have it, and you have time to put it in. there is nothing wrong with that.

on mpfi swap i would double check all wiring and try switching the 2 white wires on the dizzy, also check teh ignitor unit and take precautions not to burn it up. try to get an unchipped ecu to start the car on the first time. i know i had a few problems with my first mpfi swap , ended up beng the ignitor unit . ive done like 5 since then no probs.
when you chipped the ecu you probly put it in backwards. that will cause a solid CEL and probly fry your ecu. oh, and next time look at the other chips on the ECU and put yours in with the side that has the moon shaped cutout facing the same way.
i kno that i put the chip in the right, it was teh same way the moon was facing as the one i took out, idk about the soldering though. i gotta check on the white wires that could be it, and so could be the ignitor unit which unfortunatly idk what it is can any of you enlighten me ? its just im getting real fustrated with the rediculous solid CEL and i have reburnt the chip about a million times and it always checks out ok nad the fact that there are no 88-91 mpfi cars around here makes it hard to test if my ecu is ok or not.
