It's been real reliable - went NA on it at first with bolt stuffs, then I did a custom supercharger, and now turbo. Motor has 192,000 miles

Hahaha... sweet... I didn't know anyone from BF ventured to HMT...

I'll have to search for your setup over there.

I am very interested in seeing how you SSauto manifold will hold up... I want to do another turbo build, but piecing together parts is approximately 30 thousand times harder for a bmw than an integra.

By the way, for all the non-bmw people... "vanos" is bmw's version of vtec first available in '92 in the 5 series, but it only controls the exhaust cam. There is also Dual Vanos, which controls both intake and exhaust cams (came in later models).

Actually it was first available in the '93 3 and 5 series and advances the intake cam only. What it does is simulate a torque bump in the mid RPM. The '92, like I have, without vanos, has a very similar torque bump in the middle but its because the cams are 244/244 instead of the '93 cams that are 228/228

SS Manifold has been doing good for about 1500 - 2000 miles so far.

I was getting that from http://www.bmwworld.com/technology/vanos.htm , but that's good info... didn't know they had adjusted cams for the non-vanos.

How did you reinforce the manifold... braces or something or just more welds on the joints?

Did the early 90's 5-series come standard with a LSD? I know at least with the 3 series that some 325's did, but only before ASC was standard, then it was just an option.
