Thumbs up Turbo size recommendation for 2.8L Mercedes

Guys,

I starting my turbo project (and electronic injection) for my 1982 , 280 SL mercedes. This engine is slant 6 cylinders 2.8 liter with 12 pistons, normal working pressure is 9 BAR, with 188 BHP.

I have looked at Garrett website, but i didn't manage to understand which turbo i should use - to take the small ones with 28 MM on ~40, or to move to bigger one like 37 - 45 ?

Can you recommend ?

It depends - how much power are you going for, and what sort of driving will it be used for?

The car is stick - 5 gears. I will want to use it for daily driving - it was fully restored to original state - i don't want to make it a drift car

It is classic road-star with rear drive - it can handle V8 engine up to 5.6 liter ... so from the mechanic perspective - it is very strong.

if the engine now is 190 BHP - i think that 320-260 BHP will be great

I'm thinking a GT2871 in that case.

More lag, and it's not going to come on boost until higher RPM. It would be better for a drag car than a street car at your engine size.
