Default turbo oil scavenge pump

ive had a few different turbos on my dp-fi ed3 from junkyard t3s to new ihi rhb5s. no matter what my set up has been or what ive done to try and fix it, my car smokes like a freighttrain. i priced a kit 4 a westech oil scavenge pump @ $205 + s&h.... ....ouch. what would i need 2 build a unit myself that's reliable and cost effective? anyone out there done this b4?

p.s. anyone got the parts i would need 4 mp-fi? resistor box, ecu, manifold, sensors, t.b., fuel rail, injectors, pressure regulator, (am i forgetting anything).

smoking problems? do you have a wierd oil return? have you tried restricting the oil flow to the turbine?

yes, i have put in a needle valve after the cooler b4 the turbo; that's how i blew my last turbo. i kept turning the pressure down to stop the smoke, but i went too far and twisted the turbine shaft in half meanwhile sending shrapnel into my d15 with fresh bearings. my oil return in just a normal barbed fitting mounted high up on the pan and angled as upwards as possible. i just don't get why the smoking persists.

thanks 4 the tip on the pump for tractor use; that's about a quarter of what i was gonna pay 4 the westtech unit

Post picks because everyone elses works fine with no pump. Either you have some fucked up turbos or your drain is built by retarded midgets.

have you run an oil pressure gauge after the restrictor before the turbo?
you should know how much psi is going to the turbo.
hopefully with the electric oil pump, the pressure will be constant regardless of rpms.
