Its just a t3. Is it a 60/63, 60/48? It looks weird because it has the stock elbow on it and It has the compressor pipe still bolted on it.

so its a little big for a d-series? hows it spool on a b series? so there is a normal flange behind that elbow?

im not to familiar with t3's but it kinda looks like the oil drain would be pointed at the block

Just clock it and it'll be fine

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

thats the perfect turbo for a d. i haved the same one sitting in my garage.
very easy to work with. jago has the same one on his ride.

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

btw, if you plan on going to an external wastegate just take that o2 housing off. the wastegate flapper is built right inn. get an exhaust flange to cover the remaining hole.

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

.48 and .63 Both will work but For a D or a B18A/B, you can easily swap a 0.48 a/r turbine on this turbo which will give you better spool up and still allow to make as much as 270-280 HP with sustain power to through top end.

I have the 60/48 for my d16a6, builoding the down pipe for it this weekend. Should work out good.

Ive got a .60/.82 T3 M10 im going to use on my inline 6

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

yeah the stock mani on the mustangs pointed straight out making the O2 point down. that's wy it looks goofy with the stock stuff bolted on. Those .60/.63 s are just a standard ford 5 bolt right?

I run a 63/60 on my Y8. Works great. I don't like the instant spool you get with a T25 or 14B.

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

I run almost the exact same turbo, I just have the .48 exhaust housing. I ended up keeping the internal gate so I chopped the O2 housing in half and welded my downpipe on to it O0

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

sounds good, im running a stock ls so im sure the .63 would help me although i do like fast spoolage. :y

HMTguy 01-11-2007 09:07 PM

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

.48 would spool too fast on an LS! IMO

AJxr 01-11-2007 09:11 PM

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

especially with 3 inch of 2" to a starion intercooler then direct backdoor to the tb.... almost like a SC? will prob be fun though.

WTF 01-11-2007 09:13 PM

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

i dont know what im using it for yet, so ya. might see if my friend wants it for his ls, either way i think its a good deal so ima grab it

so you can just change the actual exhaust housing the turbine is in to change how fast it spools?

Scott-EP 01-11-2007 09:17 PM

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

i have a d series so i think the smaller housing would be good for me

well whoever wants it offer on the table. i might wanna run it first, i want a nice 12psi by 3k haha.

would this thing be too small for a 2.5l I6 (bmw)?

Scott-EP 01-12-2007 06:10 AM

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

im in, but i would also like to run my turbo the way it is 1st just to see how laggy it will be

d15b7underpsi 01-12-2007 09:14 AM

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

so wait you can just swap exhaust housing and have 63 a/r turbine? i thought it was more involved than that!?! :S

BLAAST 01-12-2007 09:30 AM

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

yes of course you can just switch the housing yourself if the wheel trim remains the same.
as long as you don't bang the wheel too much in the process ::)
it doesn't require profesional attention since the CHRA doesn'T have to be opened.

Even if it does I dont see whats so hard about it. balance shmalance, if it spins and doesnt sound like a squirrel got cought in there its good enough for me.

i would keep the .48 but that is just me

what are these dogbone lookin things towards the ouside of the compressor housing on the inside? mines missing one, i think where the stock wastegate was mounted to, not sure where or how to find one and if there differnt sizes
(not my turbo)

missing one compressor bracket? 2 out of 3 is ok. Just put large washers on the 2 bolts that have no bracket. It will keep the housing down just as good.
AT worst if you want the real bracket that belongs there, i have them in stock.
there'S 3 different types: T3, T04B and T04E. Your picture shows a T04B.

That's exactly what I did. The internal wastegate acted as a bracket when bolted to the turbo, but when I had to mount it somewhere else to fit I just threw some washers on the 2 bolts where it used to be and never had any problems.

why didnt i think of that.. thanks

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

4/5 bolts on the o2 housing side snaped in the turbine housing, im guessing 1 or more might on the otherside when i try to rotate the center, what other turbine housings fit on this? any .63 turbine housing? other sizes? the lower the number the faster the spool right? i still dont understand these numbers totally, i've only used mitsu turbos

Slo_crx1 01-15-2007 07:42 PM

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

I used the .48 housing on my b16, and it actually had a nice spool time, right around the 3500 mark. Also pulled right up to 8200...which was perfect for me. 8)

WTF 01-15-2007 11:21 PM

Re: turbo i might get, wierd exhaust side

so thats a smaller exhuast side to make it spool faster? i always thought the wheel inside wouldnt fit in a smaller one
