Default turbo eclipse help...

okay, i dont know where this would fall under so im posting in here....

my friend has a... 97 i beleive turbo eclipse... (yeah i dont have all the info) but it was a week ago when i had the info and cant remember, anyways

you get going around 4,000 RPM and it seems like someone is just pumping the brakes so it jerks back hardcore, its ------ nuts, does anyone know what this means? there is a check engine light, i think when i put the scan tool on it came up fuel pressure solenoid or some ----, but when i called a shop they said it was only for cold starts or something so it probably didnt have anything to do with it... for those of you who own turbo eclipses you know that these are pretty quick, well this thing has a bigger t3 and a BRAND NEW motor in it and its just gutless as hell, my dads old school cavalier beat this damn thing does anyone know? i can get more info tomorrow if needed...

no, not like a redline, it throws you forward pretty much, like someone rams the brakes sorta, and it does it at around 3500-4000 RPM, i think it keeps accelerating slowly but keeps jerking

Hey my buddy had the same year eclipse and it did the exact same thing. It didnt throw and codes on the scanner so i wasnt sure where to start. I had him run injector cleaner through it and that helped a little. Still at around 3500 it would start doing that. the only thing i could think of was some kinda fuel problem?

does this happen only when he punches the car or does it happen everytime he
drives past 4000rpm...it seems as if its fuel cut...i know a buddy of my gets this
when he's in third and punches it at 3000-4000 rpm...what are the mods on the car?
if the fuel system has been upgraded then its definitely fuel cut...those damn mass
air flow sensors suck and are very sensitive when too much air is measured...this also
can be the problem...

If he's running a turbo eclipse, and has uped the boost at all, I'd say it is fuel cut you're hitting. Does it sorta feel like your accelerating real fast, then all-a-sudden it feels like the tranny just fell outta the car for a second and you check the mirrors because you expect to see a tranny laying in the road behind you, and then starts accelerating again within a second... over and over? That's what fuel cut feels like.
