Re: turbo dont like it

sorry. But eh fmu and missing link setup down the drain, im going with the conversion and chrome, the y8 manny has a 2wire IACV right? and if i get the chipping kit the chip comes with a program that will allow my car to boost right? thank you

Re: turbo dont like it

The manifold from a manual transmission equipped y8 is two wires, an automatic equipped unit is three wire.

Re: turbo dont like it

...or you could just get a IACV from the manual transmission manifold

Re: turbo dont like it

Cant, on the y7 the IACV was located on the Throttlebody. most worthless manifold ever. But the 94dx manifold should work, cleaned the ---- outta it cuz it looked like it was sitting in a swamp for a year, crome chip is supposed to be here 2morro, got everything ready, im kind of getting a premature erection for boost

Re: turbo dont like it

i got the 2 wire iacv po6 ecu chipped with the sst crome chip from -------------, my car is throwing codes, but im to lazy right now t check it, but throwing codes along with running rich as crap as it was when it was obd2 and cuts past 50% throttle, Is this because i have the basemap ------------- sent me witht he chip and i need to tune it or what? Also pre turbo my car had a idle vacuum of -20 now post turbo im at -10 vacuum at idle. Does this have to do witht he turbo? In gear at 0-5% throttle it has a vacuum of -20. Is this normal or do i have a vacuum leak or something?

Re: turbo dont like it

It sounds like a decent vaccum leak. Reason you see a higher vaccum when you come off the throttle is because the engine is creating more vaccum as it brakes itself slowing down. Get a can of brake clean and spray around anywhere there could be a vaccum leak...when you find the spot the idle should drop down to normal for a second or 2. You should really check the codes that are coming up, it'll give you some extra insight on the problems that you're having. I'm not 100% sure (I've never personally dealt with a 3-wire to 2-wire conversion) but I think there is a little bit of rewiring or repinning involved with the 3-wire to 2-wire swap, so that may be one of the codes. Also there is a good chance you need to swap out your distributor to an obd1 version that has the crank sensor in the distributor instead of on the oil pump, but there again...not 100% sure. Most of my work is limited to obd0 and obd1 and obd0->obd1...obd2 in my mind is just whorish to begin with.

Re: turbo dont like it

much agreed, obd2 is the worst thing that ever happened to honda, but i did alot of reviewing on the conversion and 90% of the people said dist. is fine just the iacv and when i looked up the diagram for that it was how to switch to a 2wire on a ek vtec for a minime, but the wiring is both the same and then said said to repin/unpin and i figured it should alrdy be repinned to the right setting int he conversion harness. but i got carb cleaner and sprayed around the whole engine bay and couldnt find a spot anywhere.

Re: turbo dont like it

The conversion harness doesn't necessarily have the IACV repinned. I would check with someone that has actually done the 3-2 wire conversion to make sure what has to be done.
