TURBO D15B2
ive got my rhb5 turbo, hf manifold and adapter plate ready to bolt up. i would like to know if anyone has pictures of this turbo project so i can get an idea of where the lines are suppose to run and which vacuum lines go where. i know the DPFI isnt a great thing to keep with this but i dont care, its a beater car and the turbo doesnt make a lot of boost. if anyone can help, id greatly appreciate it...

Re: TURBO D15B2
what are you planning on for fuel managment? just thinking it might be hard with the DPFI

Re: TURBO D15B2
i wasnt planning on using any management but ive got a fuel pump from a gsr and could get an fmu. i thought with the turbo being so small it wouldnt make a great deal of difference. ive got a small intercooler. should i use it or wouldnt it make much difference?

Re: TURBO D15B2
ive looked at that page 400 times u ass. doesnt tell me much of anything. where do the vacuum lines on the rhb5 run? the small elbow on the intake side and the nipple on the wastegate. i know where the oil feed comes/goes and the coolant. just unsure of vacuum.

Just get an intake manifold from a b7 or a z6 and swap it. with the DPFI your only option is pretty much an FMU. Yes use the intercooler. any intercooler is better than no intercooler. |
Re: TURBO D15B2
I don't know what will make it blow up faster, the lack of fuel (dpfi's 2 injectors FTL), or the OP's ignorance and need for spoon-fed info. :1
An MPFI swap is easy and CHEAP, basicly any obd0/1/2 d-series manifold will bolt right up & work good, not to mention the NA MPFI will make more horsepower the boosted DPFI setup. Its all of $100 in parts, and that includes the DSM 450cc injectors. That $100 in parts will allow for 50-100% more 'safe' power. In fact, this is what I've done, and what I'm doing again. Going from a DPFI auto car to MPFI/OBD1/Manual turbo monster. D15B2 w/D16Z6 intake manifold. There are certain setups that make even HMT ------s shake their heads. :-\ |
