turbo for Corolla

Re: turbo for Corolla
I can think of a few turbo's that would make that power. t-bird ihi, td04hl-15g, t3, k26, t25...possibly and there are several other options if 180-200 is a starting point then yes a t3 .48/60 would be ideal if 180-200 will make you happy and you want quick spooling then i'd look at some I listed above. what do the toyota guys run for management?

Re: turbo for Corolla
A-fe blocks can't handle much power. The parts are too weak. I'd stick to something betwen a tbird ihi & a 48/60 @ a lower psi. Really pushing your luck running more than 210-230bhp through a 3s-fe / 4a-fe / 7a-fe over the long haul. I'd be hitting watter injection so fast it wouldn't be funny.
The good news for you, is that the FE head is going to spool a turbo faster than any of the equivilant GE's can - giving you more opportunity for more power. Assuming the engine can handle it without burning a hole in it's crappy pistons, toasting a ring, or spinning a rod.

They're just the same as any honda d series engine, as well as the 5sfe and others. The 4afe rods are pretty beefy, and the engine took very nicely to 10 psi. Now, 17 psi was a different story, but that wasn't my fault
