there is no such thing as a RB25DETT. That would be an RB26DETT. The RB25 is single turbo. RB swaps are pretty straight forward...well let me rephrase RB20 and RB25 swaps are fairly easy. RB26 is just as straightforward after you buy the TT mount kit, buy a RB20/25 RWD tranny and then do the RB25 stuff (ie mount kit, driveshaft)

Anyway if you do turbo it and decide to get an ECU, be prepared for a LONG wait. Jim Wolf likes to take their sweet *** time AND make you pay out the ***. I hear good things about them once you dealt with the delays.....LOL. If you DO go with them, plan ahead. Nothing sucks worse than having to send them your ECU for another 150 a pop or something like that just to upgrade injecotrs. It is possible to turbo a 240 the homemade for the same price as most people turbo civics. I looked at it but my KA was abused and not maintained..leaking oil, overhaeting (which led to the head gasket fatality which led to the swap) so I swapped in an RB20 instead. It bolted right up. Had clearance issues so you cant run the stock mechanical fan..have to get some aftermarket fans. Also had to cut some of the hood skeleton.

I think sport compact did a write up on how to do it. If you want big numbers buy a rb25dett and you will be on your way to 700hp with changing anything inside of the motor. It does although throw your weight balance off a bit but you can shift things around.
RB25's aren't all they're cracked up to be. The better value is the SR20. Yeah the RB25 would have more potential but you'd have to change everything and building a 6 cylinder is more expensive than a 4 cylinder.

well from what i saw at the shop, the Twin turbo 6 cyl. is worth every penny, he is looking to get 700HP without changing internals. that is really sick, i cant wait to see it finish.

Well, i'm turboing my 240sx (KA24DE) right now so ask me questions if you have any.

But i saw a post with someone saying the SR20DET engine is better. This is a never ending argument going on and will probably never be settled. Basically either engine is great. There are guys using the sr20det manifold and turbo on their KA24DE engines and pushing good numbers. There are also others with slightly bigger turbos or even much bigger t3/t04e's running 5-8psi pushing close to high 200's.

wrong, i dont know where get that info from, the SR20DET manifold will not fit the SR20DE (shop owner said it is not even worth trying, with the SR20DET out there), AND the SR20DET is a WAY better engine.
Well up to date the SR20DET (BONE STOCK) i have seen it handle 470 WHP running 10 seconds passes in a 91 240 SX DAILY DRIVEN.
read it this afternoon in some imported magazine.

the shop where i hangout, they specialize in NISSAN, everytime i go there there are three four 240 SX with SR20DET engine, all over the 350 WHP marck. and TRUST me, they pull no less than 350 WHP without even taking off the valve cover off the motor.
GET THE SR20DET!!!

do some serious research, dont just read what people say on forums, most of them dont know shyt.

YEP, i think sr20det is the way to go....can you maybe answer my question do you need a whole new rear or driveshaft or is it a direct swap??
