Sucks that you are thinking about selling your car. It sounded like you had most of the parts together to turbocharge it. Just out of curiosity how many miles are on it and is there any rust?

64k miles on the chassis 40k? on the motor. and alittle bit of quarter pannel rust on the passenger side. its not really bad for an 87 though.

Wow thats low miles. Is the engine a JDM replacement? I think you should keep it and turbocharge it. One more thing, you said that your car weighs 2900 pounds. This is not true it weighs about 2600 pounds which is about 500 pounds more than an SI. A 500 pound difference is substantial but not extreme and considering the fact that you have a 2.0 compared to the civic 1.6 your added displacement will balance the fact that your car is 500 pounds heavier.

yeah its a jdm motor. i bought the car off some old lady who stoped driving it when the wheel bearing went bad then she just parked it in her garage. I also have a cast iron closed deck block. If im jsut going to buy a civic and blow it up i should just finish the celica right. :-\ ----. i might finish it. i seirously have everything but fuel management and a blow off valve.

i wonder if i could use a honda ECU on a celica :P its all nippon denso sensors. the engines spin the other way. but they also fire the other way. >:D

lol dont get a FMU!. seirously. haha.. or if u must, its alright, but dont let the vaccuum line get kinked.. sigh.. that's like the worst mistake i've ever made in my life.. haha.. damn. Well yea rawr i think u should consider dlb's advice. And i'll add to it. I was thinking.. damn that hp to weight ratio is like a V6 old lady's car lol. but i smash on v6's all day.. i dunno why. oh and my friends built 350 el camino. all i know is that i've ridden in tons of v6's and my car is wayy faster.( i still don' t think my cars fast b/c its not like 12's) but its decent, and the torqiness is fun as hell. Anyways i think u should do it.. so that makes 3 boosted celi's on HMT lol.. me, you, and snafub. :y WEll gotta get some rest.. Later bro.

Listen I have a very simple solution to your engine management problems use 3sgte injectors along with the AFM trick to scale them back. Ok here is how you do it first you must locate the afm its that square metal box in your intake incase you didnt know, second you must remove the black plastic lid on top of the afm, before you go adjusting it, it is a good idea to mark the position of the hold down clamp on the gear wheel this enables you to return it to its stock location.(I used a pen to mark it) Next, loosen the hold down screw then you are able to move the gear you turn it to the right to lean the mixture you would only want to do this after you have installed the 3sgte injectors. After you are done be sure to reseal the black plastic window because moisture will kill the electronics in the AFM. Basically what you have done is made an afc for FREE. Yes its pretty crude but better than an FMU.

so its baiscly like making the spring stiffer in the afm? Wouldn't it be more reasonable to put a potentiometer on the signal line and scale it back making the engine thinking its getting less air than it really is so it doesnt shoot as much fuel with the bigger injectors? that way id be able to kindove tune in with knobs. ???
