if your vacuum source is off the compressor, then put a vacuum T and let it vent to atmosphere.

here was my old HM boost controller. it was pimped out by kevin. 100% home depot made. just a simple T with a barbed fitting on 2 ends and a bolt stickin out the top. I think there was a ball and a spring in there as well...but its pretty dam simple.

To the original poster: if you're running low boost, a homemade spring/ ball bearing set up will work just fine. It shouldn't cost you no more than $10-12 to make from your local hardware store.

 

I made an open loop EBC that uses a solenoid out of a Saab. Boost is mapped to rpm so I don't get the typical 1psi drop off up top.
