Default Turbo the 86 Crown Vic?!?!?!

Well, I always wanted a 302. I picked one up attached to an 86 Crown Vic, 4spd AOD, 2.73 open diff, with 47k on it for $150. I just had to replace the upper intake mani gasket and put a dizzy in it. $40 and a good 5.0 buddy later and I drove the tank down the street yesterday. Biggest car I have EVER driven, a bit larger than the hatch
So I am a little odd, and have this notion that I want to put a couple turbos on it and be happy with a 14sec pass with a 4500 lb car going woosh I will be putting a set of ported E7 heads (mustang HO heads), a spool out back, and a tranny cooler. other than that all stock. I will be flipping the stock manifolds upside down and welding flanges for the turbos. I have two dsm side mounts already, BOV, and all sorts of piping. still looking for two t25s or the like
My real question is the fuel management on this. It has a MAP sensor which i found strange. I have worthless 19lb injectors now, and was thinking like 36 or 42 lb. But how to control them and the MAP, I was thinking check valves for the MAP and an FMU with some larger injectors.
My buddy has a friend with a turbo 5.0, that used a WOT activated nitrous plate (- n2o) that would just dump fuel at WOT, but I am worried about partial throttle, which is why i was think an FMU might work.
and im not really worried about timing, ill just pull it at base timing, and will only be running of stock internal gates
Any idea or suggestions is GREATLY appreciated
Thanks
Burke

ps - i am on a major budget (hence stock gears, tranny, stock manis, dsm sidemounts), so please dont say get motec or fast or AEM.

im pretty new but i think a piggyback controller, check valves, and some bigger injectors would do the trick

If you are really on a budget, you may want to stick to an fmu. You will need a 255 lph fuel pump or an inline one. You won't be able to go wild on power with that setup but it may be good enough. I originally was running 19# injectors, a 190 lph pump and an fmu on my TT notch. On the dyno, it started leaning out dramatically at 3300 rpm where it was making 480 ft-lb of torque and 310 hp. That pump could not keep up. At high fp, the pumps flow is dramatically reduced. I put an inline pump in which really shot the fp up but decided to go with 42# injectors, a pro M maf and an adjustable fp regulator.

lol! hotrod lincoln :P

is this going to be a daily driver with creature comforts or a play toy??

If you're not worried about creature comforts then the first order of business is obvious...gut that heavy bitch and sell the parts...

Oh also, is it the cop car model? you said 302 so I'm assuming not. You can get a nifty oil cooler setup, trans cooler setup, front/rear sway bars, and 140mph speedo from the copcars at the junkyard for cheap.

You said you're going to put ported E7's on there? you doing the port work yourself?? If so then dont spend the extra money on the E7's. Go find an early 90's 5.0 tbird at the junkyard and you can get the wiring harness, ecu, maf, upper intake/tbody, and throttle cable setup and convert to the normal mustang style right facing intake setup so you can goof with that later on if you want. Then go through the harness and get rid of all the extra crap in it. Also, you'll be able to get an automatic 5.0 mustang ecu at this point (cheap on ebay since everyone converts to 5spd) and toss an EEC Tuner on it or a tweecer so you can completely play with the ecu.

Some mid 80's lincolns had dual fuel filters and some other crap in the early EFI fueling system so you'll want to get that stuff out and simplify or your 255lph pump will still be pushing through all of that crap...

You can use the 36lb injectors from the late 80's turbo dodge cars or the ones from a tbird supercoupe to keep costs down as well.

All kinds of goofy things you can do.

If it has an 8.8 in it which I'm pretty sure it does, then just go crab better gears and a posi from an old 4x4 explorer or ranger. sometimes you can get really lucky and find one of those awd aerostars...

and it's already been mentioned but definitely check ou the DIY/junkyard forum on turbomustangs.com...good stuff
