I agree that the 1.8 is a good engine that even has some small advantages over the 4g63, and is an excellent motor to boost. Its just that few even try.

The statement about the 4g63 being a piece couldnt be farther from the truth. The 4g63 is a gem and on a shitty tune can crack 400hp anyday of the week and still take a beating. Ive owned and built more dsm's than most on this board. The PROBLEM with dsm's isnt the engine, its everything ATTACHED to it!

Both the 4g63 and the 1.8 suffer from mitsu's poor choice to drop them in a heavy *** ------- chassis. Thats most of the dsm's problems right there.

Andrew's 4g63 will solve that problem. (Into the late 80's supercar chassis)

Andrew has oil pan clearance issues as of the moment. From what I saw very little will be able to compete with that car.

Which is why I have to get movin on my crx, since I see him, steve jones and wes being the only folks who will be able to keep up with me lol.

Its an awsome concept, take everything good about a dsm and put it in a crx. Even if it ends up weighing 2500lbs. (which is probably pretty close) it will still be nasty. He's really just doing it because its what he wants, not to be the fastest. Which I can respect.

You fail at basic reading comprehension. Nobody said the engine was better than the 4g, just not the gm-like feces that was suggested.

One of those small advantages you failed to ask an explaination for was the fact that the 1.8 is cheap and fits easily into a late 80's mirage/colt/summit, which is mistus equal to the ED/EF hatch if you will, with little to no modification, which in full trim soaking wet weighs an incredible 2200lbs. and usually costs less than your average insurance premium.

Also many of those on this particular board will find an 80's hatch far less homosexual than a miata of equal value.
