Default TUNER question about prices ect ???????/

Okay got car tunned in beginning of summer for $450,,,during the winter added aem water meth kit and contacted my tunner initially he said a retune would be $250 now he wants to charge me full price of $450 said he has to start over does that make sense also I'm not looking to make crazy power with meth kit just want it for reliability factor,,,,motor is stock block arp headatuds compression is 10-6-1 so def high compression,, also can I run meth kit just on water without tune just for cooling effect until I can cough up $450 for retune,,,,,thanks in advance

every change you do will require a re-tune. make sure you do all the modifications you want before getting it tuned.

Yes he may have to spend time with it but if he mispoke and said 250 the first time he should honor it but probably won't. If he is the only guy around, he is probably busy, so if it was me and i couldn't tune my own car i would pay him the full amount or try to meet him someplace in the middle. Ask him to take 350. Not only are you paying for time, you are also paying the years of experience and knowlegde if he has that.

Pay the money $450 is cheap. Last car I had tuned cost me $1000 but I am not complaining because it ran like stock with an extra 120 whp lol. Water meth is great and water alone is awesome for lowering intake temps but on a thermal chart methanol is not far behind with the added benefit of more fuel. I have run many water injection kits and always end up in the same boat on my personal cars and customers cars. Methanol cannot be beat for bang for your buck. It is comparable in price to washer fluid and works much much better. Sunoco Methanol M1 is the best hands down. Once you try it you will never go back. One small piece of advice would be add some sort of smell additive like cherry or something to it. It lets you smell you meth kit like a small check that it is working and it adds color to the flame in case it were to catch fire. Methanol by itself burn almost perfectly clear and is very very hard to see.
