Re: Track times. D15. 13's.
just to let all you ******* know, this dude can drive.
ill tell ya a little story. ive been told by numerous people that im a good driver, and i believe myself to be.
Joe (d16y8-z6) and i were at the track one day before his car was done. i was up running my b16 ef and he cam along for the ride. id been clicking off consistent 14.92-14.98s all night, like clockwork with consistent 2.2 60 foots. which is not bad for a car with just a crappy intake and a 2" exhaust.
well i got the opportunity for the last run of the night to take my other friends hatch for a run. (usdm type r powered obd2 EFhatch) but my car was already in the staging lanes so i told joe to take it for a run. he had never been to the strip before, just watched and had launched hundreds of times on the street. joe had never even SAT in my drivers seat, let alone driven the car. well, i tell him the shift points and where ive been launching from and he takes my car.
the ****** clicks off another 2.2 60 foot (remember this is on crappy and camber worn 185/60/14s) and rips a 14.800 in my car. kid had never set foot in it and totally destroys my best run of the night.
this ----------er can drive. no excuses. if he says he ran 13's, i would bet my 1st born on it. dont doubt what u dont know. its a quick car with a FAST driver.

Re: Track times. D15. 13's.
I want proof too!!
14.5 due to traction issues on Kumho tires
On a DOHC ZC at 8psi, with suspension and almost bare interior on a 90 hatch.
2.5 dp to no exhuast, TE with a pretty round tune (not widebanded but tweak by feeling for 2 months)
That a 2165 lb chassis to a 2568 lb chassis too!

Re: Track times. D15. 13's.
i weighed my car the other day and it is 2600 without me in it , so i hope i can at least hit 14's on 10 psi and y8. but i will know once the track opens for a test and tune.
still think they are good numbers.

Re: Track times. D15. 13's.
I had an 89 HF crx (completely stripped) with a d16y8 @ 10 psi on a T3 48/60 and ran a 13.84 @ 101mph on nitto 555r's.
For a heavier car, a smaller turbo, worse tires, and non VTAKK (yO!) those numbers are damn good.

Re: Track times. D15. 13's.
Thanks for the guys supporting me.
As bone says, its in the driver.
And im not saying the car weight 2000 lbs, but its certainly not 2500 anymore.
To be honest, I would have done better if I didnt touch my rev limiter or raised my boost a bit more.
I knew I should have borrowed a video camera from someone, but I went to the track with only one other pal who was ALSO driving h is car.
Pics of slips will be scanned tomorrow. My friend just got home from a club at 10 this morning and is sleeping till tomorrow.
