Default Toyota pickup turbo parts.

Hi Folks. Say I have a young friend, driving a mid 90s yota pkup, I think it's a 22R. It's injected, a good start, so I was wondering whats out there in used parts, that mite help me hook him up with some boost. I have a pretty large selection of turbos in that displacement range, so I'd be hopein' for a cast iron manifold, some ECU chiping, maybe larger injectors. I can fab up the plumbing, etc., as I'd mentioned he's young, so no money, making it another shoe string project. I have little experience with Toyos, but I know there's a lot of people out there that do, so all input appreciated. Much thanks, S.

There was a turbo version of the 22RE built in the mid '80s, but the original parts for these are likely rare as hen's teeth. Still, you might luck across one of the manifolds or a reproduction. I suspect Mk III turbo Supra injectors would drop in and they're pretty easy to find.

We sell a pretty large number of MegaSquirts to the 22RE crowd for ECU tuning as there's not much in the way of chip tuning. See this page for more info:

mid 80's there was a toyota with the 22RE-T that came turbo. they made them a few years, not really rare, they are out there, just not real common either. ebay lists a few turbo manifolds, search toyota 22re turbo manifold, and two different styles come up. either are not really inexpensive. however, there is a flange you can buy on there and fabricate your own manifold off of that. here is the link

ebay link

as Matt said, Megasquirt it! best bet for engine management
