Default tips, suggestions, and comments on the d15

Hey i bought a 93dx hatch with a d15why?6. Anyway my boys shop is buliding me a full kit, with everything done even a tapped pan, basically bolt on and snap fools off turbo kit and sending it to me in PA. I know some what about boostin' from friends and forums such as these. But i am going to need some suggestions from peoples experience. I have been an all moda guy, but i want to boost on my motor before i drop in the ole' "duece-duece" (h22). Here is a list of the important parts that the kit will consist of.

eclipse turbo 16g or whatever the name for it is.
eclipse BOV
vortech FMU
walborough inline pump
starion FMIC

I want 10 pounds of boost, i figure every pound of boost is 6-11 HP depending on setup etc... (anyone want to confirm this?)

I heard i should go with dsm 450cc if i do 10lbs. Can i squeek by with the stock 240's or will my rings be gone in no time?

When does boost start and die off with the 16G on a d15

also any tips on my setup would be great. I plan on taking pics of the install when i do it and will post my progress. I should have the kit in a couple of weeks.

thanks!

ok...on stock internals u rn't gonna boost 10 psi on a D15..
i believe your engine code is a d15b7...so u should have MPFI, and 16 valves...unless u got the d15b6.
have u ever looked at a rod from a d15? they are ------ skinny bro. BUT, since u r dropping in a two two, u can boost and beat the ------ **** out of your engine, and then let us know how long it lasted before u see a piston leave via your hood, or see a rod exit through your block.

10psi is a bit much on a stock DX block, I would go for 8, especially with your fuel setup, since its going to be maxed out already.

When will boost hit? my guess you will reach full boost (8psi stock actuated) at 45-5000rpms.

Thanks for the great info. So i will be at 8lbs anyway stock. My boy in a 2000CX ran 10 lbs on his d15 and clicked a 13.2 on slicky icky's after two months the number 1 and 3 cylinder had low compression. Ok 8lbs sounds good. Will i be able to do that with the stock 240cc's?

one last thing just anyones opinion:

Two equal drivers
Two cars
car 1, mine with the d15 8lbs (93dxHatch)
car 2, gsr swap (93dxHatch)

who would win?

Well I honestly would recommend a better fuel system, you are already pushing it pretty hard. The stock 240's just blow.

Go with the DSM 450cc injectors & AFC hack. You will be good to go!

Which car would be faster? tough to say, the Turbo D15 will have more torque for sure, but peak HP the GSR will have, and for 1/4 it will probably win.
