te04 turbo specs
I have what i think is a te04,I got it out of a 86 chrysler lebaron. It was free so i don't won't to ditch it.I just bought a 90 crx si and want to try my first turbo project. So if any one has any info or specs on the adapter plates or turbo itself that would be great.Plus there is a guy on this website who has what i belive to be the same turbo on his crx,His name is Dan Thissen but his website isn't working.
NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!Thanks Eric

Re:te04 turbo specs
seeing my name in a post made me smile
anyway, ive got the te04h
TEO4H specs:
Compressor housing A/R small (around .42?)
Exhaust housing A/R smaller (around .46?)
Compressor inducer 38 mm
Compressor exducer 53 mm
Exhaust turbine diameter 51 mm
its a really tiny turbo, but its not that incredibly bad.
the flange on it is really odd, it has 3 regular placed bolt holes and one that is really out there somewhere in left field. the flange you would have to make custom, you can't use a garrett t3 flange. i believe there is a seller on this site that does custom inlet flanges for pretty cheap.
it all depends what your goals are, how much hp are you looking for.
with a nice big non restrictive exhaust the turbo will support around 170whp at the tip of its efficiency.
right now i run 10-12psi daily with the SAFC hack and 450cc injetors, and i plan on getting the turboedit chip.
the turbo is quite small and quite restrictive, not really something that was made to support much performance.
personally i would suggest waiting for a better one to come along even if it is free. right now i regret not waiting for a biggar turbo because now im trying to upgrade to a biggar turbo and i have to trash all thoes custom pieces that i needed to make the teo work. the manifold, the adapter, the downpipe etc.

Re:te04 turbo specs
im currently doing a project with one of these. they're kinda hard to work with. the wastegate actuater hits the block (fixed with a hammer), you have to rotate the center section to get the oil to drain correctly (always a bitch on old rusty turbos) and some, like mine, have the wastegate built into the o2 sensor housing, this makes the downpipe fabrication very hard, but it can be done. im doing it now. ill have pics soon.

Thanks for replying,at least i made one person smile today.I clicked on your name back in turbo projects but your website would not respond it said AngleFire, and now i see it's angelfire.
So you think it's not worth it and should wait for better one.I heard it was small and my brother said he thinks it starts to spool at around 4500 rpms. But i know nothing about it.think i'm gonna try it any way,but like i said this is my first try and i don't know ---- about turboing a car.I seen how you did your downpipe thats pretty harsh,is it still the same way it says you changed it do you have any more pics. You said theres a guy on here who does adapter plates,do you know who. THANKS MAN Eric

http://azn-b00tie.net/havoc/main.php?havoc=dan
here is a pic of my downpipe, i never used the downpipe in that one picture, that was just a prototype
check out this thread
some adapters that make you say WOW
https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...threadid=16448
and if you are worried that it doesn't spool fast, my turbo will spool to 10psi by 3000rpm in thrid gear
