Default How you mount a te04?

Guys, how on earth do you mount a te04?? I mean the exhaust and the compressor outlet are both facing upwards and if I try to rotate it to point it downwards (compressor outlet) I can't mount the wastegate actuator on it, moving 180 degrees throws the mounting holes for the wastegate off. Anyone know a solution to this? Or should I just run a carb spring on this?

im using a carb spring right now but i could have used the actuator. Im also using the hf mani with an adapter plate. You will have to clock the turbo so the oil inlet is facing up and outlet is down. Just have to do some creative piping with the charge pipes

Yeah, thats what I did,I clock the it many position. But most likely I will have to weld a plate on the compressor housing (where the flat area) something like ala greddy turbo looks like to mount the wastegate. But for now I am going to stick with what you say with the carb spring. Thanks.

uh. i just custom built myself a manifold to fit the turbo, i'd love to be able to run a nice clocked turbo that's tucked under real nice though.
anyhow, search for my thread, i think it was called "My Setup ***PICS***" or some stupidass thing.

if you don't find it , i'm sure someone else will be kind enough to post it here (if i don't get around to it)

what type of manifold are you running? i used a ssautochrome equall lenght header and i clocked my turbo so the compressor was pointing down and i had to make a exhaust flange for the other side. Because that big bulky thing pointed straight at the block. i will take some pics. But if you want i have a modidied exhaust flange that blocks off the wastegate. so you would need an external waste. And some piping welded to the flange

TinyTurbo: was that question directed at me? i thought it was quite aparent that i'm running a log manifold.

please do take some pictures, i'd like to see a clocked te04 i was pondering doing it myself, but i'd already made the manifold and piping when i discovered that all it would take was filing off that little set pin.

heck all we did was drill a new hole for the pin to go thru. Only took a second
