Hey i have a TD05H on a d16a6 block with d16z6 internals and a z6 head. im running the HF manifold and an adaptor plate, with a homemade 2.5 downpipe, and home made 2"piping to the smic and 2.5" to the tb. My problem is im getting really bad turbo lag, i cant even get complete boost through first, and in second it gets to its max (7 psi) at about 4K, does anyone know what would cause this problem of such horrible lag? it was about this bad without the downpipe too. thanks alot -Ben

 

possible boost leak somewhere? double check all couplers.

 

not boost leak... you have an EXHAUST LEAK... use a gasket/better gaskets and do something about the 4th bolt on the turbo... either weld it or countersink a bolt on your adapter plate... also, make sure the plate is true (straight)...

 

I guess i should run a gasket between the turbo and the plate, i haev a gasket on the top, but not the bottom, thanks. -Ben

 

Put a gasket on it ben duh, Geez glad to see our creation is running, after u fried the last 2 d-series engine, including my old one, but this one is sweet......its alive ...alive ..alive i tell u....hopefully if u keep oil in it it will be alive for along time..as long as i keep ragging u about it, dont want to go thru that rebuild from scratch ---- again!!!!
