Default Question regarding boost lag

Is a low copression (9:5) turbo engine going to produce more boost lag than a slightly higher (9:9) copression engine?

A while back I purchased a Y8 head I was planning on installing on my A6 block. Then I realized the compression numbers were pretty high, which was a bit inconvenient for me cause I plan to go turbo with this setup. I was plannig on installing aftermarket internals for better suport. I live in Arizona so A high comp turbo motor just doesn't seem possible with all the heat cotributing to possible detonation issues. Anyways I just wanted some opinions, either low comp hight boost or high comp low boost?

Wich one do you think would yield better results.

Dont have any management at the moment, most of my money at the time has been focused on building the block. But as far a management, I was thinking about the VAFC hack since I know its good for 10psi. This will go into my daily driver, so it will suite me just fine. High comp high boost seems to risky, and expensive as far as tunning. I think its cheaper and safer to go low comp right?

or you could make the same amount of power with higher comp. and lower boost that you could with lower comp and higher boost, but you would make the most with high comp. and high boost. and you said you're spending all you're money on building your block, you should be fine to run a little higher comp. with a built block, but don't skimp on you're management, even if it means waiting longer to save money to buy something better, it all comes down to management, and i think you would rather be running 15psi just as safely as you could run 10psi with the afc hack, there are so many other options out there now. what obd is your car? have you looked into any of the FREE editors??

FREE!

My car is ODB0 (90 CRX).
Engine management will be the last thing I buy in my equation, but you're right, save some money for the good ----. Tell me more about these free editors.

Anybody going to answer my question regarding lag
nevermind I'll just assume it has more lag :P

yeah, it seems like you would have more lag with lower comp, as far as the free editors, have you ever looked in the "engine management" section? a lot of people are using turbo edit, a rom editor basically the same as hondata, or aem ems, it was written by the engine management moderator (jason parker), and there were many editors before this one (uberdata, ghettodyne, etc.), if you're on a budget, you should look into this! basically, you can get someone to burn you a chip (just have to socket your ecu for a few bucks), and pay next to nothing, or you can purchase the chip burner, and a couple of chips and use basemaps that others have already tried, then fine tune for your specific vehicle (with the FREE editor software), you could have a chip burner, some chips, and your ecu socketed, for less than you would pay for an afc, and you can fine tune fuel maps, timing, vtec, etc., etc. just start reading the engine management section if your interested..........

High compression high boost = faster, more power and even bigger burnouts.
