I have a 1988 Rx7 convertible that I've swapped in the drivetrain from a 1986 TurboII. It's not stock by a long shot though. Since owning the car, I've installed (not only the drivetrain) but a Walbro 255lph fuel pump, 550/720cc injectors, built (myself) and installed a Megasquirt programmable ecu, v-mounted intercooler/radiator, custom 3" exhaust, and so much more.



That's it before all the work was done (turbo's not even installed)

I built a hybrid TO4B turbo using the stock Hitachi HT18TS and a V-trim TO4B compressor. Well, it got chewed up.



So I bought a new compressor wheel and turbine shaft for it, and salvaged what was useable from the rest. I got the compressor wheel today, and started assembling it. Turns out, the dynamic seal was bad. Not the piston ring, but the metal thing that holds the piston ring and sits in the backplate. Where the shaft goes through it, it's all galled up and won't slide properly. Now I need a new one and can't locate one!!




Does anyone know where I can get one of these?

yeah high tech turbo in salt lake 801-897-8280 call and tell them you need the dynamic seal or thrust bearing collar or better yet call it the stack up piece , but remember you still need to balance your new assembly
