I have heard nothing but good about down2turbo. If I don't find a good used one here soon I'll be hitting him up. I think he lowered the price on the T3/T4?

I have a T3 60 trim .60/.48 turbo on my stock d16z6 and it matches my engine very well. I think if I had a b16 I would defintely look into getting a t3/t4. I don't mind sacraficing a little spool time for some kick *** top end power.

I dont want to **** in your wheaties...but I bought a turbo from down to turbo (t3 60 trim) and the Exhaust housing is from a diesel...it won't take the heat of a gas motor for very long. It will work, but don't expect to drive around with it for a couple of years or anything. I asked the down2turbo guy about the diesel housing and they said it would take MORE heat..this didn't sound right, so I called garrett directly, and their tech guy told me that it would work, but it would not live as long as one that was made for gas. The alloy that the turbine housing is cast from is not desighned to take the heat of a gas motor. (I.E. Diesel..1400-1600 deg. max Gas 1600-1800 deg. even spikes to 2000!!) Just more info for you guys to soak up! Here's the listing... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT
I didn't use the turbo..I got a T3/T4..but I used a .48ar exhaust side w/ a stage 2 wheel..spools at 2800 and pulls VERY well all the way to 8200

^^^wow, that's good to know. Are all of his turbos like that or just the straight T3?

A buddy of mine had a Power stroke diesel truck with all the gauges and ----. His exhaust temps would only get up to like 1500 after you stand on it in 5th gear for like a minute. I took him for a ride in my car and he looked over at the gauges and started yelling "Woah woh woah, let off!!! The motor is going to blow!!" Haha, I was cruising around at his max temperature.

The only thing that I know for sure is that this one is (the 60 trim), I guess it's supposed to be off of a older mercedes turbo diesel car. But I would assume that if the housing looks EXACTLY the same on some of the other turbos, that it is probly the same one. The place where I got my turbo built had a huge stack of them on a palette in the back of thier place to be recyled as scrap becuse they won't use them. He said they are REALLY cheap and easy to get, so that's why they are using them to make rebuilds. I don't want to talk ---- about down2turbo as they have sold LOTS of turbos and haven't had any problems, and after all, they are selling EXACTLY what the description says. They just leave out some of the information.

Exactly, that's why they work well for most people. I've got to much German in me..I want everything all super mega over built to last for 100 years...but remenber, how long it will last depends on how hard it works.

i emailed down2turbo earlier today and i asked if he had any .60 exhaust housings availiable and he said in about a month he will.

I just emailed him and asked if the new housing is going to be off a gas or diesel car. hopefully a gas
