I've used about 3 t-25 dsm turbos and everyone spooled to 8psi on the nose, so either you guys have your wastgates not straight, getting a weak signal to the actuator, or simply a bad wastegate all together. If you dont beleive me go take off the factory boost solenoid on a 2g dsm and hook it straight up, it will spool 8psi all day long.

As far as adjusting it to lower it, you can put some washers on the compressor housing to space the actuator out farther, this will increase the length of the arm and slightly crack open the wastegate, this increases lag but will lower the boost. If you really have your heart set on lowering the boost to 5-6psi, and have a decent spool your better off getting a different internal wastegate. Chrysler K cars with the 2.2l turbo engines have wastegates set at 5.5psi and work great for modding onto other turbo setups.

i dunno man, ive tried 3 different wastegate actuators, all with the same result. also changed the line going from the compressor housing to the actuator a number of times just to be sure it wasnt ballooning out. they all resulted in an indicated 12psi, and 1 getting high enough to make my map sensor take a dump

Most of the turbo's were garrett T-3's with a different bolt pattern on the turbo flange.

there was also a Mitsubishi Teo4h - most of the (gay )Dodge turbo car guys swap this one out for a Garrett. The mitsubishi turbo was used specificaly for more low end torque on non intercooled cars. They spool fast too. 280whp seems to be the limit for the intercooled Garretts.

Definetly heard that the T25 is set at 8lbs.

I wouldnt even worry about the extra 2 lbs, just keep it at 8 dont go through all the trouble to lower, you should be fine.
