T-bird turbo
Anyone have any experience using a turbo from a t-bird? If so what kind of results? Also any links to site for rebuild kits since I'm gonna pick it up for an old alpine amp from a friend in a trade since he doesn't feel like going through with the hassle of setting it up.

Re:T-bird turbo
theres more than one t-bird turbo...ive had both the ihi and the 60/48 t3 but not the 60/63...ihi spools like crazy, but the t3 pulls great up high (12psi on a d16y7)

Re:T-bird turbo
Yeah it all kinda depends on how much boost you plan on running and what engine the turbo is going on. I have the T3 .60/.48 for my B18b

Re:T-bird turbo
How much do these rebuild kits typically costs vs. the cost of just getting it professionaly rebuilt? I just picked up one, T3 .60 / .63 last week. It looks great but has a little shaft play.

Re:T-bird turbo
A rebuild kit is usually pretty inexpensive in comparison to getting it proffesionaly rebuilt. Most people just buy a new turbo when theirs is junk because the cost is about the same to have the junk on rebuilt. But it also depends on how much shaft play is in your turbo also. you say a little... T3's I beleive are supposed to have a little shaft play, but I am not sure what the specs. are until it's junk.

Re:T-bird turbo
The t-bird turbo is the t3 and I'm gonna be using it on a D16y7 block with a Z6 head on it w/stock internals. The only fuel management will be a fields vtec controller and PG7 ecu. Also did anyone know of any sites that sell rebuild kits. I'm newbie show so could someone help out a new member. By the way this is a great site and mesageboard you guys have going. I used to check out the Honda-Acura net but post ends up people arguing over dumb ---- all the time. This is like breathing fresh air!
