Swapping out turbo parts?
Hey, i have another question now that ive figured out my turbo is worthless. What does it take to swap out the hot side on a turbo. I have a .89 on my exhaust side, and i want to replace it with a .42 or .48, something to make it spool quick. Im only revving to 7200, and 8000 on my new block. The intake is a .48. Its got 4 bolts holding it on, and it has a t3 flange, but its a t25. What do i need to do this, and where can i find one. thanx.

Re:Swapping out turbo parts?
Well, thats the problem, i dont have the money to go out and just buy another turbo, and the guy i bought this from put no returns for a reason, he knew my dumbass would figure out i got screwed after i bought it, and i would have to try and resell it. But i know i wont get my moneys worth. Sooooo, im just gonna try and swap out the exhaust, for a t25 or a t3 side, since it seems it will bolt up. Oh, and i dont already have the exhaust mani, why, did you think i did?

well, i got kinda mixed up there, the exhasut outlet is 3 inches, the turbine itself is 1.75", and the intake compressor is 1.5". does that make more sense. The housing outlet on the exhasut is 3", its huge. heres a pic:
Oh yeah, copy and paste this into your browser, tripod sucks...

Re:Swapping out turbo parts?
you should jsut got to a junkyard and pull a turbo off and old dsm car. i had an old saab that i blew the tranny on, and i took the turbo from that. if you have a junk yard near you go look around, you can get turbos for really cheap there. i bought a 14b for 40 bux and it works prefectly

Re:Swapping out turbo parts?
I just sold a t3 48/42 for $130 I would have trade with you, if you would have posted earler, not that I have use for your turbo, but I could probably put a tank turbo compressor on that and sell it on ebay, or just to help you out,I'm pretty sure someone on here have an extra turbo they can trade or sell to you for cheap. junkyard is your best bet though.

Re:Swapping out turbo parts?
Nah, i always buy things new, just incase, so i dont have to go through rebuilding or finding a good one. Ill probably pick up a rebuilt t3, i just threw this one up for sale, trying to make some of my money back.
