Re:Suggested turbo size for a TT 5.0 305 camaro...
why the ---- would I want to waste the money to have a cam grinded for this motor?
it is a ------- peice of ---- motor anyways. we are building a new one as soon as we find a decent block for the right price.
i would rather do a twin turbo setup on it for the simple reason that it would be a bitch to run the exhaust manifold all around the engine bay...
this is a V8. not a I4.

If memory serves me right that motor would be like the 153 4 cylinder found in many many chevies from the mid-late 60s on.. that thing was a hooker, provided no power at all. The displacement was like 2.5 litres, in that range.. later that motor turned into the iron duke or some ---- that lots of pontiacs used.
I recently researched all about it cause I was thinking about doing a hybrid motor swap on an old john deere backhoe/loader and that would have been my choice of powerplants.

We have a 400 SBC set up with MegaSquirt'N'Spark. Edelbrock Torker II single plane intake, tigged some material to the runners and just drilled holes for the injectors in a table mill. Throttle body is a Q-jet with the venturies removed. Distributor is a modified HEI with the advance mechanism removed. Still running N/A on that one.

:P Yup the camaro came out with the 2.5 l cyl with a manual trans that was ther base model. They used that motor in the s-10,fiero,ols cutlass many other baseline econy cars. Was a gear driven cam that made noise after 100k but the ran forever as long as oil an water.Hard to kill
As for the camshaft lets see about that whats different between the 305 an 400 cam ?? NADA so why not.Use the 305 with a nice cam in it an mock up the turbo dial it in boost the 305 till she pucks or you know you got your tune right an then swap in the 400.Called a bug testing motor an when all the bugs are gone put in the bad boy.Now what you say again about the cam ? LOL
I think i gonna go the mega squirt route for the caddy but i got this picture in my head of a dual quad manifold on it an i have 2 bonnets comming in from left an right an twin turbos what you think?
