And then find another plug for the block fitting.

 

good point, i just have an oil gauge sender and the feed line coming off mine.

 

Have you tried sending the drilled out plug and the fitting down the inlet hole? It would seem that the taper of the threads and the thickness of the plug+fitting would make it difficult. It'd work pretty good, I'd just have to see if they both fit.
