Re: ssautochrome turbos, any good?
Wow do you need to search a little harder!!!
People generally do not like the ---- the SSAutoChrome sells because frankly, ITS CRAP. But lately a lot of guy have been taking the SSAutoShit route because of costs and coming up with some decent results with the turbos. Some good numbers have been made with them. In the beginning they didn't last any longer then a few hundred miles, then bearing and seals are shot, but a few guys have had them for +3000 miles with no problem.
All in all they offer a good selection of sizes for the price, but its the reliability and durability that comes into play with the cheeaper crap. You have to ask yourself, do you want to pay for a turbo that will laqst 1 years or 5? Personally, i would not buy one. I would either hold out and buy a better/more repitable turbo, or buy acheapy from the junkyard and either do it yourself or pay someone to rebuild it.

Re: ssautochrome turbos, any good?
i bought a "remanufactured" garett off e bay it now has like 1,000 miles on it and the oil seals leak, its not rebuilt by garett, its rebuilt by some crazy brazillian ******* that suck ***, thats why it was $300 instead of like $650 new from garett, i would imagine the ssautocrap ---- is the same way, next time i'll find a used mitsubishi turbo if i cant afford a good turbo, a decent used 16G is a good damn turbo and can be found cheap...

Well I just bought a .60/.63 Nissan T3 for about 150 off ebay. The guy had it rebuilt using a Factory Garret Rebuild kit. All it needed was a turbine housing that I alreadt have. When I get it, I slapping it all together and taking it to a shop around here to have it balanced properly.
