whats the difference between a sprung and sprung clutch..

the unsprung can take a harder beating. less things to fail on the unsprung like the springs ------- up. it chatters a bit more though

a six puck sprung disk also chatters quite a bit

chatter smatter...if you cant handle it you shouldnt be driving a boosted car :P. i mean seriously it doesnt chatter if you know how to drive it.

the springs delay the engagment so to show a less "shock" to the drivetrane.

unsprung disks can cause you to shatter gears and break axles because they are instantly ON from a stand still launch.

the springs absorb the shock of going from zero torque to ### which helps eliminate shock to your tranny/axles.

not saying you WILL break stuff without springs, but that is the reason for springs.

the noob is right, the springs will take up the slop in the drivetrain before you trough full torque at it. Kinda like letting the clutch grab just a little before you dump it.
