SOme quick questions viz alky/watter Injection.
JD hope you can help here man.
Have it setup so that at 10 PSI the pump to inject watter into the engine just after the intercooler and just near the carb.
THen to turn off injector at 6 PSI.
While opening the engine to put in some pistons with coatings.
Found the piston rings had lost some of their spring. (Comp still the same as when we put in the turbo).
The doubt I have is many time we are driving arround at under 10 PSI.
The engine is hot the rings must be really hot.
We are now spraying in cold watter.
On hot rings. Arent they going to loose all their tension.
I mean in the old days the aircraft had very diffirent rings they where huge cast inron rings.
Now days our rings are special steel. ANd very very thin.
I got some spare rings and tried this test i.e. heat up under pressure then hit it with watter. THe ring does loose its tension.
Is this something I need to worry about while using watter injection into the engine.
We need the watter / alky for the ammount of boost planed.
