ok im gonna need a lil more help. how do i figure out the bearing code and the journal code? i dont quite get that.

the side of the rod reads: PR4 59*
bottom of the err, whatever the bottom of the rod is called, lol, reads:31*-PR4

The rod bearing code sizes are stamped into the crank and will cross reference with the numbers stamped on the side of the rods. If you look at the one side you should see a number, either a 1, 2, 3, or 4. Sometimes the rods are mixed and matched to match up better with the crank journals so often times you will end up with a mix of all 4 numbers in your block. The cross-reference on the crank is stamped as a letter, A, B, C, or D. If the number stamped on your rod is #3, and the coinciding letter stamped for that particular rod journal is a C, then you would cross reference the 2 to find your appropriate bearing size. If you download the manual listed for the 90-93 Integra listed on this forum in the Hybrid/Tech section, there will be a chart you can use to find out what size and color bearing you need. ok pistons read

and the crank reads

B2 B2 B3 B2

so if i understand this, B2=yellow, and B3=green

i think i got that. say if i buy used pistons/rods.

and those rods are all 3s.

how do i go about that to figure out what bearings i need?

do i just forget that the crank reads B2, and just go with B? which would mean i would need all green bearings for the new rods?

the crank shouldn't have a letter and a number...My rods are all 3 and the chart I got from honda shows that if the crank says B, the color is green. B and 2 = yellow.

EDIT: the numbers on the crank are for ordering the main bearings. you match those numbers to the numbers on the bearings (another chart) to get the color for the mains. I have both charts btw.

for the mains, there should be letters on the the block that match to numbers on the crank. Tell me what the letters on the block are and I can tell you the color. Those letters might actually be on the main caps. I can't remember exactly... The chart says they are on the block, but that doesn't sound right to me. edit: with my rods, all the rod bearings would be green for you.

ok i think i been using the wrong terminology :1

with the number on the rods and the number on the letter on the crank, i get the bearing size...and thats for both the top and bottom bearings? know what i mean? like the actual rod part has half a bearing and then the "cap" part that bolts on to the rod has the other half. since the crank has a B and the ods are a 3, then the chart gives us color green, with that i get both halves? sorry...im an idiot, lol. first time doing this :S

You're on the right track. If B is the letter coding stamped on the crank, then you are correct with B-2, B-2, B-3, B-2. The other numbers stamped on the crank will match up in the same manner to letter codings that are stamped on the block itself, usually off to one side of the oil pan. That particular letter code will be a 5-letter code.
