smoke from valve cover

so today i popped my hood while my car was running and smoke was coming from the breather hole in the valve cover. i dont know if is normal with a turbo car or what. i have always had a hose hooked to it when i had an intake on. and now its just open? normal or no normal?

Ok...the valve cover I'd just toss a breather filter on to keep dirt and dust out. The stock pcv that runs from the intake manifold to the block is your issue. Plug the line from the manifold, and just run a tube from the block pointing towards the ground. Vent to atmosphere ;) Pcv valve is mostly for emisisons crap anyway :P

Would a slashcut into the exhaust help it out any?

i suferd the same problem in my dsm's. the one engine was burning oil and i never figured out why but the other did not burn oil. however they both did that when runing very hot. ya the whole blocking the pcv sounds like a real quick fix. id try that too.
