Re:a slightly different turbo application
thats why you get good torque converter and get a cooling kit for it, with that, the sc400 tranny holds around 400 horse power. and damnit i know the 2jz is the most used engine in a number of cars. i really dont give a hoot about it. there are too many 2jz's now. ive spent about a year learning about the sc400. i dont plan on going much above 400hp, if that high at all. and as traction goes, good tires, good torque converter, and have it cooled. even at 300 hp. thats unique for this project. and no one does this, and plus immagine the look on some guy trying to race me thinking its stock ::)
but help on the traction i could use help with, so just gimme advice ^_^ also, wow the 2jz is a nice engine, since it is meant to be tweaked the hell out of.and comes inT TT and n/a . i know i know. but i bet that guy has a little more hp than i am aiming for.... also about the turbo sizes that are listed, im aiming on going with one slug =P or MAYBE TT , dunno if i wanna go TT with my fisrt custom setup. There is a turbo kit being made by a site called lextreme, but 5k ??? uhhhh,,,,,,, NO |

Wow. Ok, Ummm.....where did you find an SAFC2 for $150?
Misc. piping for $1000!!! :o WTF is misc???? Tube frame piping or what? Intake? You're running a turbo. The intake is like 1 foot long. Why would it cost so damn much? __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
Re:a slightly different turbo application
personally id call precision turbo. a grand national turbo like an upgraded one would be an excelent choice or something along the lines of at least a t60.
|
Re:a slightly different turbo application
i guessed some of it.....
i asked for it to be leaned, =P i was thinking of misc as in all the tubing, fitting etc. anyways, ebay is yo friend =) |
Re:a slightly different turbo application
twin T3 60 trim's would work beautifully for anything under 15psi.
http://www.smokemup.com/auto_math/turbo_size2.php twin turbo wouldn't be too much more work in this situation than a single turbo as you can fabricate either a full dual exhaust or a y-pipe to join them together. with a single turbo, you'll have to have a y-pipe, and i don't know how strapped for room that engine bay is. in some cases, it may be easier to fit 2 small turbos than one huge one. for single turbos, a garrett 62-1 would work well, as would a T61 (though it's meant for much higher pressure ratios). |
Re:a slightly different turbo application
tanx, that site is neat =)
also, redid the budget on some things. Turbo=400$ Apexi Safc-II 150$ Intercooler w. piping 230$ Misc Piping $300 Fabricated Manifold est 300$ screws, fittings, lalala 100$ wastegate $300 BOV 180$ downpipe [custom made] $100 Intake: $120 and the beast: http://67.33.106.111/engine.jpg to get some space, the battery is being moved to the trunk, and winshield washer go bye bye ^.^ |
Re:a slightly different turbo application
