what are signs of a bad ECU? My CEL on my obd0 pr4 stays on, pump does not prime when key is turned, it is not the relay! Car does cranks but won't start due to no fuel.

 

Any way to get the code from it? It does sound like a bad ecu, but check out the other possibility's first.

 

so you are saying yor car does not start due to lack of fuel? Are you getting spark? There could be a number of problems, first ckeck the fuse, then reset the ecu by unpluging the battery for about ten mins. if that does'nt work find out the CEL code, there will be a number of LED's on the ecu itself or a plug under the dash right above the passenger side kick panel, if you have a repair manual it will tell you steps to do this, find out what number it is flashing. My guess would be a fuse, a clogged fuel filter, or fuel pump.

 

I'm saying my car doesn't start because there is not power going to the Relay, so fuel pump isn't getting any power. I have already reset it, it is chipped so there is a high chance it's taking the plunge.

 

see if you can get a hold of another ECU and test it that way

Another sign is if you tried chipping it and it only revs to 4k. I know from experience or else that damn ebay chip is bogus :P

 

try wiggling the chip, or cleaning up the connections for the socket.
