Default Setups with the 14B............

I'm piecing together a kit for my Zc and after receiving the (Stealthmode) oil lines, I was wondering about doing a clean install for the feed. As most of you know, the feed has a banjo style fitting and a hard stock steel line. I was thinking of using this fitting


with the stock bolt. But from what I can see is that there will be no room for the nut at the end of the -4 line to turn because it will hit on the surface of the turbo housing. In other words, the threaded portion needs to be at a 45-degree(ideal) so as to eliminate clearance issues.

I know some of you have "jerry-rigged" this by cutting the line and using multiple hose clamps, etc., but is there some sort of fitting or adapter that any of you used to make it a "clean" install?

i used that with a -an nipple and then hoseclamped my feed line to that. i did raise up the banjo with 2 extra sealing washers. that was all it took. tighten the fitting to the banjo before you attach it to the turbo.

you said because thats flush mounted to turbo center, the threads will not have room to accept the ss line right? if you are willing to make it fit, take dremel or something, and grind the area on the turbo where the threads of the fitting will be , and it will be even better to install the ss lines to the fitting 1st, and then install the assembly to the turbo, I dont much about 14b but that sound like it will solve the problem.

Well it sounds like I'll order that fitting and add the additional washers or grind the area. Either way I'll post the results. Thanks!

Well since I was not satisified, I decided to pursue my " clean install" of the Stealthmode oil lines. The kit came with a lot. More than I was expecting but since I was using the 14b there was no way or better yet, no fitting in the kit for a direct bolt-on to the stock oil feed. The stock feed uses a hard line with a banjo style fitting for a 9/16 dia. hole. I tried Home Depot and other plumbing supplies to get an adapter, but no luck. I wanted to use a fitting like in the above post but I had clearance issues so I came up with my own.

Using the stock hard steel line, I cut off the banjo fitting.


(Look closely you can see where I cut it.)
There was enough material left in that portion of the line for me to "tap" into.
I clamped the banjo fitting in a small vise ( with the pipe end up) and using a 11/32 bit mounted to a drill press I drilled through the center of the fitting. You don't have to worry about finding the center or anything just line up the bit to the existing hole from the hard line. Lubricate with WD-40 or 3-in-one oil. After drilling, I used a 1/8 NPT tap and tapped the banjo fitting for the AN adapter (Earl's part # 982304). This is what it looked like after I tapped it.



And with the -4 to 1/8 NPT adapter:

Umm...hmm...you know you can buy adapters that have male -an thread on one side and the metric thread on the other side that screws right into the turbo right?

m10 1.25 wont fit into a m12 1.25 thread...

14b = m12 1.25

i used the -3an to 7/16" IF fitting and it worked well.

You mean with reusing the stock bolt,right?

Yeah, I forgot about Pegasus Racing. I did that mod because I was in a bind. Not that I couldn't wait, I just wanted that instant gratification. It's also an alternative for those want to keep costs down. I paid $4 for the tap.

no i didnt use the stock bolt.

i used a 7/16" - 24 thread pitch Inverted Flare fitting.

just like most other people use. i put a good amount of teflon tape on it and it threads in nicely.
