I know with all this advanced turbo theoretical physics using Corky Bell as a main reference, I’m just way out of my league here. I'll sit this one out while you keep explaining how your not able tell if your car has a boost leak.

No references are needed. This is a simple concept that most people can understand, except that you're a monkey, so you're kind of hindered I guess.

If the leak is so bad that you don't build any boost, then that means the WG is not opening and the turbo is free to overspin from the uncontrolled exhaust. This is easy to spot and correct though, unless you're a retard and just keep driving it like that.
The very bad situation is when the leak is just large enough to facilitate the boost level you want, but the turbo is actually spinning so fast to flow that huge CFM (flow for the engine PLUS flow for the leak) at the low boost pressure.
The other downside is that at that point on the compressor map, it is so inefficient that your IAT's will skyrocket.

Pop off your IM coupler and the turbo coupler. Pop in a 2" pvc cleanout w/plug, tap a gauge in one end, a valve step in the other. Pressurize with a bike pump, compressor, your mom's lips, etc. BOV might leak if you don't pressurize its port, otherwise the gauge will not move if there's no leaks. I did this in a minute, after I tracked down the cleanout with the gauge. Damm think popped off at 25psi, shot out of the garage 20ft!
