Rx-7 Turbo II Help.....
Anybody know what a good Catalytic Converter would be for it. It's an 87 Rx-7 Turbo II with 3mm Apex seals, rebuilt turbo, FCD, 720cc Injectors, and I've got a 3in d- pipe I wanna hook the cat up to and then probably run it out single 3in. The reason I ask is cause alot of people say you need to run stainless on 7's due to the heat. But it's not a car I'm gonna drive a shitload. Anybody know?

Yes I would run a stainless cored cat on your rx... I put a regular universal cat on my street ported rx7 and that cat lasted about 4 months... it completely melted, clogging the exh and I could do 0-60 in about 5 hrs . one good thing tho, the car was actually quiet for once!

Hehe holy crap! Melted it?! Ouch! Yeah and that's my only other problem is trying to keep the car quiet. All of my 1st gen 7's were all so damn loud it drove me nuts. But I'm thinking of doing a Carsound Cat and one of those cheap stainless mufflers on Ebay. Have you seen these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33636 ? Not a bad deal.

that ebay muffler is just a chromed glasspack with a tip. it will not sound good or quiet the car down, put a muffler on there like a flowmaster or holley flowtech. it needs to have chambers to quiet it down. you may loose 1 or 2 hp but you will be able to hear the radio.

Well, the only problem I'll have is space. The 2nd Gen Rx-7's are setup for a round style muffler. So if a Flowmaster would fit, trust me, I'd use it. Anybody ever try it or think it would fit?
