my car will only rev to 4k when driving. the check engine light is only but i can not find the problem. I put a turbo on my car last week, and had nothing go wrong until now. I thought it might be a fuel cut, so i added a fmu. It did not fix the problem. Please help

 

ok list all your fuel management and what car u have. that might help. ill guess and say you got a code 3.

 

98 honda civic, with a cartech fmu.

 

check what cel your getting. do you have check valves?

 

if it is a VTEC motor, check oil level, and check oil pressure sensor.

 

i dont have any check valves. but what i did is took the ic piping from the intake manifold just to see if there was a boost problem. i still hadt the same thing happen with just free flowing air, no boost.

 

im betting its Map sensor seeing boost problem.

 

it is a vtec motor, an the oil is a little low. will low oil be a problem.

 

why would the car run fine for a week then just having the map not read boost.

 

u said you had a check engine light right? that means your in limp mode which will cause problems like this. put some oil in the car and reset your ecu, see if it happens again.

if your boosting how are u preventing the map from seeing boost if your not using check vavles?
